Dr Beijung runs a very successful Tai Chi School which is based in Dun Laoghaire.

Established 15 years ago the school now boasts more than 1000 students.

Master Beijung Liu holds the grade of 5th Dan, and is a very experienced instructor with one of her students holding a 3rd Dan, 6 holding a 2nd Dan and 2 having achieved a 1st Dan.

Tai Chi can perhaps best be thought of as a moving form of yoga and meditation combined. There are a number of so-called forms (sometimes also called 'sets') that consist of a sequence of movements. Many of these movements are originally derived from the martial arts and perhaps even more ancestrally than that, from the natural movements of animals and birds although the way they are performed in Tai Chi is slowly, softly, and gracefully with smooth and even transitions between them.

For many practitioners, the focus in doing them is not, first and foremost, martial, but as a meditative exercise for the body. For others, the combat aspects of Tai Chi are of considerable interest. In Chinese philosophy and medicine, there exists the concept of 'chi', a vital force that animates the body. One of the avowed aims of Tai Chi is to foster the circulation of this 'chi' within the body, the belief being that by doing so the health and vitality of the person are enhanced. This 'chi' circulates in patterns that are closely related to the nervous and vascular systems and thus the notion is closely connected with that of the practice of acupuncture and other oriental healing arts.

Another aim of Tai Chi is to foster a calm and tranquil mind, focused on the precise execution of these exercises. Learning to do them correctly provides a practical avenue for learning about such things as balance, alignment, fine-scale motor control, the rhythm of movement, the genesis of movement from the body's vital center, and so on. Thus the practice of Tai Chi can in some measure contribute to being able to better stand, walk, move, run, etc. in other spheres of life as well. Many practitioners notice benefits in terms of correcting poor postural, alignment, or movement patterns which can contribute to tension or injury. Furthermore, the meditative nature of the exercises is calming and relaxing in and of itself.

Despite running a very busy medical practice Dr Beijung has decided to open a Tai Chi School in Bray.  This offers a rare opportunity a chance for people in Bray and surrounding areas to learn this internal Chinese martial art practiced for both its defence training and its health benefits.

About Teacher

Master Beizheng Liu is a qualified Taichi teacher. She started to learn Shao Lin, Long Fist when she was 6 years old and had high-standard instruction from Master Song Zhi Ping – the holder of Hua Fist. Meanwhile, she was learning Tai Chi. She continues to receive instruction from the Chinese Wushu Federation systematically. She is a Wushu 5 Duan holder.

She has been teaching Taiji in Ireland since 1998. Her school was named Dr.Beizheng TaiChi School in 2005.

Master Liu is also a qualified medical doctor. She graduated from Beijing University and got her Bachelor’s degree in 1982. She has been working in the Chinese Medical Centre as a chief doctor since 1998.

Besides Taichi School, Dr Beizheng is a Chinese medicine doctor.

Dr.Beizheng Clinic is a long-established medical clinic in Dun Laoghaire in 1998, providing herbal remedies, acupuncture, cupping, and ear candling services.

She is specialized in infertility and women’s complaints. With more than 6000 cases and a 90% success rate, she was in national and local newspapers and magazines regularly. She is highly recommended by those beneficial families.

She is also good at treating any sort of pain. She’ll negotiate with your body and try her best to find out the causes and clear them one by one. For example, someone has pain in the knee. It might be osteoarthritis might be related to ‘wear and tear’; it might be a tendon injury or inflammation; it might be only related to some blockage on the nerve, it can be near the spine or anywhere from the spine to the knee.

Helping strengthen energy or strengthening the immune system is another expertise of Dr Beizheng. If you have been experiencing fatigue or if you are getting infections or getting sick quite frequently, your system might need an adjustment and a booster.

Chinese medicine or acupuncture works well in this situation without making any organ and tissues damages. The natural ingredients from herbs will make you stronger again while repairing your body in the three-month cell regeneration cycle.

Many pre-illness should not be ignored. That’s the way to keep healthy. That’s the way to live a long life.
